Allentown Center City Chess Club Schedule Page

All events are held at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 North 7th St., Allentown, PA 18102. 

Events are from Noon to approx. 6:15 PM.  Registration is Noon to 1:15 PM.  You can arrive late and play part of an event on any day *except* quad day -- for quads, if you are late you cannot enter the event (but you still might be able to get in a rated game).

Bring clocks, pens and proof of USCF membership.  Sets and boards provided (but feel free to bring yours)

Jan 2    2010 Random Pairings Swiss, 3-rounds, G/40  No pairing restrictions -- pairings by random lottery  EF: $7  Prizes:  All 3-0 scores share $60 prize pool

Jan 9  191st 2nd Saturday Quads (TLA in Chess Life), 4-player sections by rating, G/40, EF: $12, $24 1st each section

Jan 16  Allentown G/40 Swiss, 3-SS, G/40  EF: $7, Prizes $15 1st, $10 biggest upset  (If 20 or more players -- then 2 sections / 2 prize funds)

Jan 23  TEN BUCKS TORNADO # 1  4-SS, G/30  One Section  EF: $10  Prizes: $60 prize pool shared equally by all players with at least 3 pts or more.

Jan 30 January White Sale Swiss, 3-SS, G/40  EF: $7, Prizes: White sale themed    gift certificate by win lottery among players with 2 points or more.  Bottom half of each section plays White all three rounds.  (If 20 or more players -- then 2 sections / 1 prize fund)

Feb 6  Free Quad Entry Swiss, 3-SS, G/40 EF: $7  Prizes: Free entry to the February 2010 Second Saturday Quads by win lottery (If 20 or more players -- then 2 sections/2 prize funds)

Feb 13 192nd 2nd Saturday Quads (TLA in Chess Life), 4-player sections by rating, G/40, EF: $12, $24 1st each section

Feb 20  Allentown G/40 Swiss, 3-SS, G/40  EF: $7, Prizes $15 1st, $10 biggest upset  (If 20 or more players -- then 2 sections/ 2 prize funds)

Mar 13 193rd 2nd Saturday Quads (TLA in Chess Life), 4-player sections by rating, G/40, EF: $12, $24 1st each section

Mar 20 Play Your Peers Swiss, 3-SS, G/40  EF: $7, Prizes: $12 for each 3-0 score -- pairings will be #1 vs. # 2, # 3 vs. # 4 each round by score group.  You may play the same player more than once.  One section.

Mar 27  TEN BUCKS TORNADO # 3  4-SS, G/30  One Section  EF: $10  Prizes: $60 prize pool shared equally by all players with at least 3 pts or more.
