The field was smaller, but the games were even tougher at the 2009 David Elliott Memorial (held 10/17/09).
17 players competed for a $500 prize fund and the chance to take home the championship cup. The Elliott family provided a pizza lunch again this year for all of the hungry players.

The prize winners were:
1st place NM Peter Minear 4.5 pts $150 and the Elliott Cup
2nd place Jack Mongilutz 3.5 pts $80
3rd place (tie) Greg Nolan, Michael Turcotte, Isara Thanakit, Jim Strobel each with 3.0 pts $20 apiece
Top 1899-1600/unrated Kevin Santo 4.0 pts $100 (maximizing his prize -- he actually finished in 2nd place)
Top U1600 (tie) Jason Botta and Ben Lu each with 2.0 pts $50 apiece
National Master Peter Minear won the 2009 David Elliott Memorial (and took home the prestigious Elliott Cup)
Kevin Santo had a fantastic result, scoring 4 out of 5 (including a win over Greg Nolan) and taking the top class prize (1899 to 1600). Kevin's score was good for second place in the tournament, but he claimed the class prize to maximize his prize. Watch out, Topalov!
Randall McEvilly gave the tournament winner all he could handle in a round one encounter that went right down to the wire.
Phil Salen scored 1.5 pts in the David Elliott Memorial, including a big upset draw vs. LaMont Rouse in round three.
